Following the same skin care routine year-round may not work so well when the humidity drops.  Skin care for dry skin becomes even more important during the colder months.  It is imperative that you add extra moisturizer to your routine.

There are numerous reasons you may have dry skin, but it doesn’t really matter what makes your skin dry.  What matters is how to get your skin to maintain a regular level of moisture.  You need to give your skin what it needs to stay hydrated, and it needs to be a part of your regular routine.  This will cause a positive change in how your skin looks and feels.

Moisturized skin looks better, and when skin is properly hydrated, it becomes more supple and flexible. Well-moisturized skin sheds built-up dead skin much better as well.  This shedding of dead skin cells gives your skin a young and glowing look.

There are two lists when it comes to your skincare, what to do and what not to do.  Under the category of what to stay away from:  soaps, drying and damaging ingredients, extreme temperatures in water, abrasive scrubs, or stiff-bristled cleansing brushes.  To keep glowing, hydrated skin, include the following in your skincare regime:  sunblock, serum, moisturizer, gentle exfoliation, plant oils, and hyaluronic acid.

Does water help with dry skin and do you really need to drink 8 glasses each day?

You’ve heard it before, drinking water is good for you, but until recently there wasn’t much to support the idea of 8 glasses of water doing anything beneficial for your skin. However, a report was just published indicating that drinking water in fact does help your skin.  The report suggested that more than 8 glasses of water actually needs to be ingested to see benefits.  To achieve any improvement in your skin you need to drink almost a gallon of water, which is almost 16 glasses.
